Getting horses fit for competition can require long hours in the saddle, and many riders take to nearby fields and trails for both the physical and mental benefits of changing terrain. However, even when riders take every precaution, horses can still be unpredictable animals, potentially creating a long walk home, or worse, when a rider falls.

In case of emergency (ICE) connections enable riders to send a message through the KER ClockIt Sport app when an emergency happens. ICE messages are sent through the KER ClockIt Sport app and include the rider’s GPS location. Since ICE messages are sent through the app, both connections must have KER ClockIt Sport accounts.

ICE connections can be set up through the KER ClockIt Sport mobile or web app. Note: ICE connections are one-way connections, so if Bob adds Susie as an ICE connection, he can send messages to her, but she cannot send messages to him unless she sends him a request.

How To Set Up ICE Connection on the Mobile App

  1. Open your KER ClockIt Sport mobile app and tap on the profile icon in the top right corner.
  2. Select “Connections”.
  3. Select “Emergency Contacts”.
  4. Use the search bar to find connection’s account.
  5. Select “Add as an Emergency Contact”.
  6. Your connection can then log in to their mobile app, navigate to their emergency contacts, and use the check mark to accept the connection.

How To Set Up ICE Connection on the Website

  1. Log in to your account on the KER ClockIt Sport website.
  2. Hover over “Profile” in the top navigation menu and click on “ICE Contacts”.
  3. Click on the “Pending Offers” link.
  4. Use the search box to find the user you want to send a request to.
  5. Once you’ve send a request, your connection can log into their account and navigate to their pending offers to accept.

How To Send and Receive An ICE Message

  1. From an active session, tap the red “Emergency” button at the top of the screen.
  2. Select from a pre-typed message, or type your own and tap “Send”.
  3. Your ICE connection will receive a notification that they have a new ICE message. They can navigate to their profile in the mobile app to read the message and see your location. (Note: your ICE connection must have notifications enabled for the KER ClockIt Sport app.)
